The Knicks played their final game at the Palace of Auburn Hills and left the Pistons a nice going-away present: a horrendous defensive performance. What thoughtful guests.
Tobias Harris had a season-high, Ish Smith threw roughly 30 uncontested lobs to Andre Drummond, and Detroit romped to a 112-92 victory. The Knicks fought back from a double-digit no fewer than three times, but they ultimately couldn’t overcome the fact that they are the Knicks.
The highlight of the game was Chasson Randle’s half-court buzzer-beater at the end of the first quarter.
Randle hit 4 of his 7 three-point attempts on his way to 12 points, a performance that would have looked a whole lot better if he had gotten a couple of foul calls.
