The Knicks staged another workout Monday with the Spanish League’s rising 7-foot project Kristaps Porzingis, in town for the draft.
The Post reported the Knicks interviewed the 19-year-old sharpshooter in Las Vegas this month after his workout for several teams. Clarence Gaines, team president Phil Jackson’s top adviser, scouted Porzingis in Spain, where the team’s European scout, Kevin Wilson, is based.
However, Jackson said he is trying to draft a starter with the fourth pick and the Latvian sharpshooter seems a ways away, making him an odd fit. Jackson also has stated that after falling to fourth, he wasn’t sure there was a big man worthy of that high a selection.
