Phil Jackson wants everyone to get a “grip.”
He wasn’t comparing Steph Curry to Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, formerly Chris Jackson, when he tweeted about them on Sunday. Abdul-Rauf merely reminded him of the reigning MVP.
His tweet drew a hailstorm of criticism, as his Knicks flounder further out of the playoff race with each passing day, and he returned to the social media site on Monday to clarify those remarks.
Besides the size and style similarities, however, it’s hard to see why Jackson even mentioned the players in the same breath. Curry and the 53-5 Warriors are taking the NBA by storm, threatening to set an all-time mark for wins in a season, needing just 19 to tie the Jackson-led 1995-96 Bulls’ 72-10 mark.
