When the two teams first faced off, back on October 25, the New York Knicks (4-5) gave the Indiana Pacers (5-5) a thorough beating and limited Tyrese Haliburton to a goose egg. Tonight, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Haliburton and the Hoosiers got their revenge.
The short-handed Pacers started strong, winning a tightly contested first quarter, 29-26. OG Anunoby’s 19 first-half points helped the Knicks secure a 61-58 lead at halftime despite a scoring bonanza by Bennedict Mathurin. In the second half, the Knicks played well enough but traded two-pointers for Indiana’s threes. The score seesawed into the fourth quarter.
