When the classic gangster film “Bonnie and Clyde,” starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty, came out in 1967, it inspired a fashion for the pinstriped suits and wide-brimmed fedoras favored by Beatty’s roguish character. One young man who took to wearing such hats was an instant attraction in the Big Apple: the newest Knick, Walt Frazier. As legend has it, a Knicks trainer tagged Frazier with the “Clyde” nickname, and it stuck.
