After a great college career at the University of Michigan, which he capped by scoring more than 30 points per game in his senior year and was named the college Basketball Player of the Year, Cazzie Russell joined the Knicks as the NBA’s Number One overall pick for 1966. Russell made the NBA’s All-Rookie team in his debut season. In 2016, Russell earned the Coach Wooden “Keys to Life” award at the Athletes in Action Legends of the Hardwood breakfast, which takes place at the Final Four.
