The Knicks returned to Madison Square Garden looking to shake off a disappointing finish to Friday's game in Chicago, and no one was more ready for a change of fortune than Arron Afflalo. The shooting guard had cooled considerably of late, scoring fewer than six points per game over the last three -- nearly half his season average.
Both team and player were successful in today's Sunday matinee, Afflalo exploding for a seaosn-high 38 points (including 7-of-8 shooting from downtown) to propel New York to a 111-97 victory over the Hawks. Fisher's squad opened up with an 11-2 run, forcing Atlanta to call timeout less than three minutes into the contest, and never looked back.
