Tony Wroten can’t wait to help the Knicks as a penetrating guard. He longs to play for what was always his favorite team because fellow Seattle guys Jamal Crawford and Nate Robinson played at the Garden. And his time will come.
Next season.
“I want to play. I want to play as soon as possible and I also want to be as smart as possible,” said Wroten, returning from ACL surgery. “If that’s this year, then that’s this year. If it’s not, then it’s not.”
Wroten, who officially signed with the Knicks Tuesday, still is rehabbing from February 2015 surgery on his right knee.
