When Kristaps Porzingis tore his left ACL in February, it sent the New York Knicks down an unknown path. With their superstar hurt and without a timetable for his return, it reduced expectations for the team’s development and placed pressure on others to lead the offense.
Given Porzingis’ potential Christmas comeback, it leaves the Knicks where they were to close the 2017-18 season. So one or more players must step up to fill the gap.
Who will dominate the stat lines, though? New York has options to run its offense through, whether it’s returning veterans or a top 10 pick.
