It looks like fans will not see Tony Wroten play for the New York Knicks, after all. Hours after the Derrick Rose trade, it was announced that the Knicks opted not to pick up Wroten’s non-guaranteed contract.
Wroten was waived and will become an unrestricted free agent.
Wroten was signed by the team back in March after the 76ers waived him in December. He had his best season two years ago when he averaged 16.9 points, 5.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
Though he never took the court with the Knicks, Wroten was working his way back to being the player he was before he suffered a partially torn ACL.
