Ian Begley of ESPN New York reported that Tom Thibodeau’s Minnesota Timberwolves were involved in trade discussions with the New York Knicks about point guard Derrick Rose. The former MVP played under Thibodeau for seven seasons with the Chicago Bulls.
On Wednesday, David Aldrige of Turner Sports elaborated on that report saying that while Thibs was still interested in a Chicago reunion, he wasn’t willing to give up rookie point guard Kris Dunn.
Wolves’ pursuit of Derrick Rose still very strong—“Thibs wants to do this,” says league source w/knowledge—but MIN absolutely keeping Dunn.
