Tim Hardaway Jr. returned to the New York Knicks in 2017 on a lucrative four-year, $71 million contract. The money was questioned at the time, since Hardaway only started 30 games the year before and did not a 30-minute average.
In year one of the deal, Hardaway averaged a career-high 17.5 points in 33.1 minutes per game, but on 42.1 percent shooting and just 31.7 percent from behind the arc. He also missed 25 games due to injury.
Hardaway took on a larger role in the second half of 2017-18, when Kristaps Porzingis suffered a torn ACL.
