When the New York Knicks made RJ Barrett the No. 3 overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, they received a 6-foot-7 guard/forward that was one of college basketball’s most dynamic players. He contributed to Duke’s run to the Elite Eight, while creating one of the nation’s most exciting teams to follow.
Barrett has a new situation in the NBA. Some of his teammates will be as young as his collegiate colleagues, and winning will not come as easily as it did previously. There will be trials and tribulations.
However, there is every chance for Barrett to have a successful rookie season and a few accolades to accomplish along the way.
