The New York Knicks and their fans tend to get overhyped by the high-profile free agents who become available. Names like Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, and DeAndre Jordan were rumored to be interested in the Knicks in past offseasons.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t too long after that when the Knicks realized that none of the stars who entered free agency had any interest in them.
Until the Knicks show any sign of promise, the top free agents won’t bother wasting their time looking at the Knicks, as the big market appeal is no longer enough.
The NBA is all about winning, and Phil Jackson won’t be seeing any of the top players sign with his team until he shows that he can build (not coach) a successful team.
