The trade that saw the New York Knicks get both Stephon Marbury and Penny Hardaway was a steal. The best player that the Knicks lost was Antonio McDyess.
Marbury, a two-time NBA All-Star, averaged close to 20 points and 10 assists to finish out the 2003-04 season. That season, the Knicks would return to the playoffs after missing it the past two years.
Sadly, Marbury would never return to the playoffs as a member of the Knicks. He remained with the Knicks until 2009. Between this time, the Knicks had five coaches, including the great Lenny Wilkens and Larry Brown.
