The New York Knicks selected Greek wing Thanasis Antetokounmpo at No. 51 overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. In the two years that have passed, Antetokounmpo has been one of the most popular members of the D-League affiliate Westchester Knicks.
Unfortunately for Knicks fans, New York will have to wait—again—to see Antetokounmpo on the main roster.
After two years in Westchester, Antetokounmpo has decided to play professionally overseas. It’s a rational move for a 24-year-old who’s looking to gain high-level experience and a reasonable paycheck.
According to Spanish publication Gigantes, Antetokounmpo will be leaving New York to play with MoraBanc Andorra of Spain’s vaunted Liga ACB (h/t Sportando).
