The slim possibility that the New York Knicks might re-sign Derrick Williams has dissipated. New York utilized a vast majority of its cap space to build a starting lineup, and has since made moves to address the flaws of the second unit.
The Knicks still had the opportunity to re-sign Williams, but have effectively committed to a new direction.
Along with Williams, New York had cap holds via the contracts given to Lou Amundson, Cleanthony Early, and Kevin Seraphin. All four players were considered to be potential re-signings, but it appears as though all four will walk.
