Saturday, September 23 brought an end to a chapter in the illustrious history of the New York Knicks. With a highly anticipated trade, Scott Perry put an end to Carmelo Anthony’s time as a member of the organization he orchestrated a trade to in 2011.
With all of the drama surrounding the team, the trade was necessary. The Knicks will now be able to build around Kristaps Porzingis and look towards the future of the franchise.
Many fans posted “good riddance” messages upon news of Anthony’s trade to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but in the long run, his time in New York should be viewed positively.
