When Phil Jackson took over as team president of New York Knicks, one of his first orders of business was finding a new head coach. That search didn’t take very long to complete.
Unfortunately for the man who was hired, neither did the process of firing him.
Derek Fisher spent a season-and-a-half as head coach of the Knicks. During that time, he accumulated a record of 40-96, which translates to a win percentage of .294.
Jackson revealed his reasons for firing Fisher in a conversation with confidant Charley Rosen (h/t Jason Patt of Today’s Fastbreak).
