New York Knicks, Paws Of War Surprise Army Veteran With Service Dog

The month of November is widely viewed as ‘Veterans Month’ with almost every professional sports league showing their appreciation to the men and women that have, are and will serve our country. Ahead of Veterans Day on November 11th, the New York Knicks decided to surprise a retired Army veteran with a new service dog.

During a break between quarters on Wednesday night, the Knicks recognized United States Army Retired Sergeant First Class Luciano Yulfo, who served in the military for 36 years. Yulfo was injured on duty in Afghanistan in 2014 and retired this past April.

Thanks to the Hoops for Troops program and Paws of War, Yulfo was given a very good canine named Murphy.
