Chris Haynes of ESPN reported in the hours following the 2017 NBA Draft that the New York Knicks had signed center Luke Kornet to a two-way contract. Kornet went undrafted, but earned the respect and interest of the organization during pre-draft workouts.
Just under two weeks later, the Knicks provided a press release to officially announce the signing of Kornet to a two-way contract.
The move further displays the Knicks’ conscious pursuit of promising young talent to groom and develop long-term.
According to the official NBA rules, teams are allowed to have up to two two-way players on the roster at any time.
