The New York Knicks are one of the NBA’s original organizations. Of the eight teams that debuted with the BAA in 1946-47, only the Knicks and Boston Celtics have lasted until the present day.
In honor of the Knicks’ extensive history in the NBA and BAA, the Knicks will wear a Hardwood Classic jersey in 2016-17.
70 years since New York debuted as a professional basketball organization, the Knicks will honor the pioneers. The trim is that of the 1946-47 squad, albeit with modern adjustments such as knee-length shorts and the absence of a belt buckle.
The Knicks offered an exclusive look at the hardwood classic jerseys via the team’s official Twitter account.
