New York Knicks: Mitchell Robinson receives interesting Shaq comparison

Before the New York Knicks selected Mitchell Robinson in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft, he received some first-round projections, due to the combination of size, athleticism and under-the-rim talent. The choice to not attend college may have hurt his stock, but that benefited New York in Round 2.

Robinson made his first impression in the summer league, with a double-double average in a handful of games. It was a small sample size, but enough to provide a glimpse into the future.

Beyond summer league, Robinson had the chance to work with his teammates, including Trey Burke, who provided an interesting comparison for the rookie center at Monday’s media day:

“His ability to just get a rebound off of the rim, just go right back up and just dunk it, it reminded me of like a young, and this is high praise,” said Burke, according to Zach Braziller of The New York Post.
