National representation does not happen often for the New York Knicks, last having Carmelo Anthony play for Team USA earlier this decade. With him out of basketball, it is time for a fresher face to step up on a bigger scale.
According to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, center Mitchell Robinson has an invite to join USA Basketball’s Select Team at their training camp this summer.
The select team is comprised of 10 rising players who will have a chance at Team USA’s 2020 Summer Olympics roster in Tokyo, Japan.
Robinson might not have a great case now, but with another standout season for the Knicks, he can play his way into consideration for a final spot.
