The New York Knicks rookie center, Mitchell Robinson, has made the NBA All-Rookie second team. Robinson was the lone Knick to receive such honors, as fellow rookies Kevin Knox and Allonzo Trier did not.
Robinson averaged 7.3 points in 20 minutes per game. The points are not what made him a valuable rookie, it was blocks and field percentage.
Robinson led all NBA rookies with 69.4% field goal percentage and 2.4 blocks per game. He also has the Knicks rookie record for blocks, 161, passing Kristaps Porzingis, 134. Not to bad for a second-round pick that did not play an entire year of competitive basketball, preparing for the NBA.
