The New York Knicks will be well-represented at EuroBasket 2017. Kristaps Porzingis will star for Latvia, Willy Hernangomez will take on a featured role for Spain, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas will be a key contributor for Lithuania.
Although Kuzminskas’ heavily favored Lithuanian squad was stunned and upset by Georgia in their first game of the tournament, he showed out during the narrow defeat.
Lithuania is viewed as a favorite to medal at EuroBasket, but it got off to a poor start against Georgia. It fell 79-77 in a highly competitive game that saw 2012 second-round draft pick Tornike Shengelia score 29 points for his native Georgia.
