Maurice Ndour traveled an incredible path to starting an NBA game. The New York Knicks forward was born in Sinidia, Senegal, played high school ball in Japan, spent two seasons at Monroe College, reached the Division I level with the Ohio Bobcats, went undrafted in 2015, and played in Spain in 2016.
On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, Ndour’s global journey reached its highest point yet when Ndour made his first career start in the NBA.
Ndour has bounced between the NBA and the D-League during his rookie season. With Kristaps Porzingis sidelined against the Chicago Bulls, however, Ndour got the call for his first career start—and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
