The games before and after the NBA All-Star break opened a glimpse of positivity amid a brutal season for the New York Knicks. They had won three of four matchups and had some resemblance of momentum — until reality set in.
Since defeating the Orlando Magic on Feb. 25, the Knicks have lost five straight, including the Saturday afternoon matinée, and returned to the bottom of the NBA standings. Falling to the Phoenix Suns solidified that.
There was a chance to break through that against the Sacramento Kings, however, who took a double-digit point lead into the fourth quarter.
