When the New York Knicks lost Kristaps Porzingis to a torn left ACL, the air left the building. The Madison Square Garden faithful were aware of the possibility that New York would miss the playoffs in 2017-18, but Porzingis represented a clear sign of hope for a brighter future.
While it’s admittedly easy to buy in to the hype, it’s difficult to watch Porzingis’ offseason without feeling as though he and the Knicks will thrive long-term.
Porzingis, 22, has spent the offseason in Europe as he works to recover from a devastating knee injury. He’s been candid about the process, allowing cameras to follow him and videos to be posted on his official YouTube account.
