The New York Knicks walked into Wednesday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers on a 17-game losing streak. It’s a franchise record, and facing one of the NBA’s most talented teams does not help their case to snap it.
Even before the losing streak, few bright spots have accompanied the Knicks in 2018-19. They have the League’s worst record and there’s not much to look up at.
However, in the second quarter of this matchup with the Sixers, for once New York was able to look down on their opponents. Literally.
Kevin Knox, who’s still just 19 years old, took a pass from DeAndre Jordan off a cut, soared over Ben Simmons, one of the NBA’s premier, young point guards, with a two-handed slam that sent the 2017-18 NBA Rookie of the Year to the floor for the and-one.
