New York Knicks point guard Frank Ntilikina has been exactly what he was advertised as being: A project. A 19-year-old rookie who had never previously received strength and conditioning training, Ntilikina has spent his rookie season getting by on instincts and natural ability alone.
While some have been discouraged by what they’ve seen, the Knicks aren’t worried at all about Ntilikina—and with fair reason.
Ntilikina is currently averaging 5.6 points, 3.1 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.8 steals in 21.1 minutes per game. Those pedestrian numbers have been referenced by his skeptics, but those within the organization remain confident in his long-term potential.
