No phrase has become more polarizing amongst New York Knicks fans than, “Triangle offense.” Some still believe that 13-time NBA champion Phil Jackson can end the Knicks’ title drought with the vaunted system, while others find it to be dated and ill-fitting.
Though many are concerned with how it impacts the Knicks on the court, attention is now turning to how the triangle offense could alienate free agents.
It’s well-documented that the triangle offense isn’t the most ideal system for a point guard to play in. It often stations the point guard in the corner and thus takes the ball out of their hands—an uncommon strategy in the modern era.
