The renowned triangle offense has long been the focal point of New York Knicks team president Phil Jackson since he was a head coach. The system proved to be successful throughout the duration of his 24-year NBA coaching career from 1987 to 2011.
Most notably, he’s implemented the triangle system around all-time great players: Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant.
Although, acknowledging these factors, one can question: was the success of the triangle offense revolutionary for its time, or was it mostly dependent on superstar-caliber players of previous generations?
My Answer: I’d say both is true.
