The New York Knicks have one two-way contract remaining. Following the signing of former Vanderbilt Commodores center Luke Kornet, the Knicks have created an opportunity for one of three players to join him between the G League and the NBA.
In order to provide those opportunities, the Knicks were required to hand out partially guaranteed contracts that could end up counting against the cap.
New York signed undrafted free agents Jamel Artis, Nigel Hayes, and Xavier Rathan-Mayes. All three received partially guaranteed contracts, but the three deals weren’t structured in identical ways.
According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, Artis and Rathan-Mayes have an Exhibit 10 in their respective contracts, meaning their partial guarantee wouldn’t be counted against the cap if they were to be waived.
