New York Knicks: Henry Ellenson praises potential pick Ja Morant

There is a 14 percent chance for the New York Knicks to land the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. 86 percent odds exist for this not to happen, meaning no Zion Williamson, who’s projected to become the first name called in June.

Players go beyond Williamson and are arguably led by Murray State’s Ja Morant, who already declared for the draft. His standout sophomore season and national breakout game in the NCAA Tournament only increased the hype as a potential top-five pick.

One Knick, Henry Ellenson — a Marquette product and the same school that lost to Murray State in the first round — supported Morant and praised his work to jump onto the national stage, per Marc Berman of the New York Post:

“I was hoping for Marquette to win because they had a great year and [I] watched them all year,’’ Ellenson said.
