New York Knicks: Four reasons to love the Henry Ellenson signing

The New York Knicks opened roster spots with the Kristaps Porzingis trade on Jan. 31 and the waiving of Wesley Matthews and Enes Kanter after the trade deadline. John Jenkins took one spot, and someone else might take another.

Per The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Henry Ellenson will sign a 10-day contract with the Knicks this week. He spent the past three seasons with the Detroit Pistons, who selected him 18th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft.

It’s a short-term deal, but one that could prove fruitful for the Knicks depending on how everything plays out for the rest of February and into March.
