It used to be an annual tradition for the New York Knicks to play through an intense playoff rivalry with the likes of the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, and Chicago Bulls, as viewers of ESPN’s The Last Dance documentary have recently been reminded. Nowadays, when the calendar turns to May, there’s a different tradition in New York: searching for a new head coach.
The Knicks are on their seventh head coach since their last playoff appearance in 2012-13. And it appears they will be hiring their eighth over the next several months.
After David Fizdale was fired in early December, G-League coach Mike Miller was promoted to the head role with the Knicks.
