The New York Knicks are dealing with a shortened bench at the moment. Dennis Smith Jr. is still away from the team after losing his stepmother and he will miss the team’s next two games.
Fizdale said Dennis Smith Jr will not be with the Knicks tonight or in Boston Friday. Elfrid Payton is out tonight with a strained right hamstring. Also, Kadeem Allen is unavailable with a knee issue.

Unfortunately, Smith is not the only Knick dealing with a sudden loss in the family.
