With just one year remaining on his contract, the Chicago Bulls shockingly traded point guard Derrick Rose. The Chicago native and fan favorite was sent from one big city to another as the New York Knicks dealt three players to acquire him.
Though leaving his hometown wasn’t easy, Rose has wholeheartedly embraced his status as a New Yorker.
Rose is projected to be the starting point guard for the Knicks in 2016-17. He’s due $21,323,252 in base salary and will become an unrestricted free agent during the summer of 2017.
Rose showed his appreciation for New York with an awesome, “I Love New York,” T-Shirt that features his son’s face.
