The New York Knicks’ early-season struggles were not just due to one player, but most of that roster. Just one piece of it, Dennis Smith Jr. had difficulties at both ends of the court, including, basically, the inability to hit a shot.
Well, Thursday’s game—a “revenge” night for many— became Smith Jr.’s banner night of the young 2019-20 campaign. With 13 points, six rebounds and eight assists on 5-for-12 shooting, it was, by far, his best performance.

Smith Jr. missed the first two exhibition games in early October with a back injury, so he was always behind in preparation for the regular season.
