The New York Knicks made waves by selecting point guard Frank Ntilikina at No. 8 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft. The decision that received far less attention, however, was the selection of shooting guard Damyean Dotson at No. 44 overall.
Although a lottery pick is all but guaranteed to receive more attention than a second-round acquisition, Dotson is already turning heads in New York.
Dotson signed a three-year deal with the Knicks this past summer, which will keep him in New York through 2019-20. He’s made an early impression on the coaching staff with his defensive tenacity, productive rebounding, crafty passing ability, and smooth shooting.
