New York Knicks: Clarence Gaines Jr. Will Remain in Front Office (Report)

The New York Knicks are keeping the man who talked Phil Jackson into drafting Kristaps Porzingis – Clarence Gaines Jr.

Ian Begley of ESPN New York reports that Gaines will remain with the team’s front office as a scout.

Gaines was Jackson’s right-hand man and held the title of Vice President of Player Personnel during the Zen Master’s controversial reign.

With the new regime in place, it appears that Gaines has understandably experienced a demotion. Not that it matters because just having a smart basketball mind like his is enough.

New York added Fred Cofield to the scouting staff too.
