The 2016-17 NBA regular season marked a departure from the triangle offense. The New York Knicks embraced a more well-rounded and modern approach to offensive execution for a vast majority of the games that have already transpired.
Since the All-Star Break, however, the Knicks have embraced the system that they were all but demanded to abandon entering this season.
New York currently ranks No. 13 in the NBA in points per game and No. 16 in points per 100 possessions. Consistency has been elusive in 2016-17, however, which has resulted in the return to the triangle offense.
