In mid-February, it was reported that a street in Queens would be renamed, “Anthony Mason Way.” It was a well-received decision that intended to honor New York Knicks legend Anthony Mason, who tragically passed away on February 28, 2015 at 48 years of age.
Four months later, Anthony Mason Way has been officially unveiled.
According to Georgett Roberts and Melkorka Licea of The New York Post, 100 people showed up to the unveiling. It was a testament to the impact Mason had on the lives of many, which spanned beyond the basketball court.
