From 2005 to 2012, the Los Angeles Lakers performed a successful experiment in the development of center Andrew Bynum. After winning two NBA championships with Bynum as a starter, Los Angeles pushed the big man to an All-NBA Second Team appearance in 2012.
Just four years later, Bynum isn’t even on an NBA roster.
Injuries and an often questioned work ethic have kept Bynum out of the NBA since an unsuccessful 26-game stint in 2013-14. He’s failed to rediscover the form he found with the Lakers, and in both 2014-15 and 2015-16, has been an afterthought from a personnel perspective.
