The New York Knicks, with a lot of salary cap room in July, are planning to target the top free agents. Most, if not all of them will likely pass on the Knicks, including a forward from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News writes: "Kevin Durant is the top free agent, but is not considering the Knicks, according to sources."
Guard Arron Afflalo owns a player option for 2016-17 that is worth $8 million. The way he was used at the end of this season will likely factor in, if he picks up the option or chooses to join the 2016 free agent market in July.
