Mohamed Bamba and Mitchell Robinson are the same age, played on the same McDonald’s All-American team and are now 7-foot centers in the NBA.
There is one big difference between the Orlando big man and the Knicks big man. The much ballyhooed Bamba was drafted with the No. 6 overall pick in the NBA this summer after playing one year for the University of Texas. The Knicks picked up Robinson, who did not play basketball last season, 30 spots later.
Robinson, who has started eight games and is averaging 5.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks said before the Knicks game against Orlando Sunday night that he was looking forward to playing his former teammate.
