Mitchell Robinson out indefinitely with strained groin, Knicks announce

PORTLAND, Oregon — Mitchell Robinson, who was hoping to return from an ankle injury when the Knicks are back at Madison Square Garden to face the Pacers on Friday, will instead be out indefinitely because of a strained groin.

The rookie center’s new injury was announced by coach David Fizdale at the Knicks’ morning practice before Monday night’s game against the Blazers at the Moda Center.

Robinson has been out since Dec. 14 with the ankle injury. He is averaging 4.7 points and 3.9 rebounds in 28 games this season, including 12 starts.
