PHOENIX — Knicks center Mitchell Robinson may not need a jump shot to become an All-Star one day, according to his mentor Taj Gibson.
As the 21-year-old Robinson becomes an athletic wrecking ball inside on both ends as a dunk machine and rim protector, he’s all but dropped the idea of incorporating a 3-point shot into his arsenal this season. Or even a mid-range jumper.
Gibson says Robinson’s uniqueness still can make him a star without a 3-point weapon. He’s been so dominant on putbacks and has turned into an alley-oop aficionado no matter how high the lob.
