Knicks center Mitchell Robinson is changing his number from 26 to 23 to honor two dead high school classmates.
The Knicks released their Summer League roster and Robinson is expected to play at least two games. The first practice is Tuesday in Las Vegas.
Robinson, the No. 36 pick from last year’s draft who went on to earn Second-Team All-Rookie honors, wore 23 in high school but it was taken by Trey Burke last season.
In a Q&A with Steve Serby late last season, Robinson explained why he wore 23 in high school.
“It really represented my friend [Jacquez], one of my best friends that I grew up with,’’ Robinson told Serby.
